Who is welcome?
All persons, who own or reside in a house on the Roosevelt Court are automatically "resident members.” (Resident members live on: 47th St. (East side, odd number homes) between Skillman Ave. and 39th Ave.; 39th Ave. (South side, even number homes) between 47th St. and 48th St.; and 48th St. (West side, even number homes) between Skillman Ave. and 39th Ave.)
That's you!
Clear out the closets. Liberate the basement. Give that “perfectly good thing someone might want someday” its long-awaited public debut.
Roosevelt Court is hosting a neighborhood Block Sale & Basement Purge on Saturday, May 16. Neighbors are invited to set up in front of their homes, bring out useful treasures, odd little finds, kids’ stuff, books, housewares, vintage curiosities, mystery cords, impulse purchases from 2017, and anything else ready for a second life.
This is a friendly, low-key community event. Participate as a seller, stop by as a shopper, or just wander the court and say hello.
How to Join
If you’d like to participate, please let the RCA know so we can get a rough head count and help promote the sale. Neighbor Paul W. is heading this one up. We made a signup sheet here: https://forms.gle/eAEDgkxTfy73XQH56
You can sell from your own front area, stoop, yard, or table. Please keep sidewalks passable and be mindful of neighbors.
What to Expect
Neighbor yard sales around Roosevelt Court
Household items, books, toys, clothes, plants, and surprises
A chance to clean out basements and closets
Friendly neighbors wandering, chatting, and bargain hunting
The RCA Table will be set up with coffee and pastries for RCA neighbors, then thought the day we’ll be selling snacks and drinks and have a 50/50 raffle drawing. Last year Marion won like 12 bucks!
Want to Help?
We’d love a few volunteers to help with simple things like signs, promotion, setup support, taking a turn at RCA table, etc. Click that link up there and sign up.
No committee robes required. Just neighborly enthusiasm and maybe a folding table.
