About the Roosevelt Court Association
The Roosevelt Court Association is a volunteer neighborhood association for Roosevelt Court in historic Sunnyside Gardens, Queens.
We help neighbors stay connected, share useful information, organize seasonal events, welcome new residents, coordinate small court projects, and care for the shared spirit of the block.
We are not a governing body, an enforcement group, or the boss of anyone’s tulips. We’re neighbors helping neighbors.
Roosevelt Court has always had a special feeling: brick homes, gardens, mature trees, shared green spaces, stoop chats, block sales, cleanup days, snow shovels, leaf bags, plant swaps, and the occasional email thread that becomes its own weather system.
The RCA exists to make that neighborly energy easier to keep going.
What We Do
The RCA helps organize and support things like:
Seasonal cleanups
Block sales and neighborhood events
Garden and tree-care conversations
Welcome materials for new neighbors
Dues and shared court expenses
Safety and quality-of-life discussions
Resident resources and recommendations
Communication among neighbors
Most of this work happens because someone raises a hand, sends an email, brings a folding table, lends a tool, plants something, prints flyers, or says, “I can help with that.”
How It Works
The RCA is run by volunteer officers and neighbors who pitch in through committees, events, and one-off projects.
Some neighbors help with gardening. Some help with events. Some help with safety. Some help with welcoming new residents. Some simply show up when it’s time to clean the hell strip or carry a table.
All of it counts.
Dues & Membership
RCA dues help cover the practical little things that keep the association moving: supplies, printing, event materials, welcome baskets, cleanup tools, and other shared expenses.
Dues are voluntary and deeply appreciated. They are not a tax, a fine, or a ticket to belonging. They’re just one way neighbors help support the work.
RCA Member Rebates
The RCA has historically offered limited member rebates for certain neighborhood-supporting expenses, including eligible tree pruning and security improvements. These programs are subject to available funds, current RCA approval, membership status, and documentation requirements.
Tree Pruning Rebate
Historically: 25% of eligible pruning costs, up to $150.
Security Rebate
Historically: up to $150 for eligible security-related improvements.
Before scheduling work or assuming reimbursement, please check with the RCA Treasurer or officers to confirm current eligibility and available funds.
Join In
You don’t need a title, a committee assignment, or a clipboard to be part of Roosevelt Court life.
Come to an event. Join a cleanup. Pay your annual dues if you’re able. Bring a plant to swap. Share some chili. Shovel some snow. Recommend a good plumber. Help a new neighbor. Wave across the court. High-five Jonah and his Trash Hunter Crew. Or boogie with Ms. Maybell and Charlie Judkins.
That’s the RCA in action.
Welcome to Roosevelt Court. We’re glad you’re here.
